‘Maybe I Am the Villain’ Dominates: Nine Awards and Counting


Max Presement's short film Maybe I Am the Villain made a strong impression at the Golden Lion International Film Festival, winning six major awards! The film, which explores themes of inner conflict and morality, took home the following honors:


  • Best International Short Film

  • Best Director (Short Film) – Max Presement

  • Best Cinematography – Farhan Rashid

  • Best Costume Design – Mathias K. Tom Yew

  • Best Editing – Max Presement

  • Best Actor – Nolan Mick


The team's work stood out across multiple categories, with Max Presement being recognized for both directing and editing. Farhan Rashid's work behind the camera was recognized with the Best Cinematography award, capturing the film's striking visuals. Mathias K. Tom Yew brought character to the film's wardrobe, earning Best Costume Design for his campy and symbolic designs. Nolan Mick's portrayal of the film's protagonist, Ansel, earned him the Best Actor award for his raw and emotional performance.
