Indie action drama Maybe I Am the Villain is making its mark on the festival circuit, taking home three significant awards.
Written and directed by Max Presement, the film won Best North American Film at the Monza Film Fest, Best Action/Thriller at the Reale Film Festival, and Best Debut Actor for Nolan Mick at the Luleå International Film Festival.
The film blends action, drama, and fantasy elements, telling the story of Ansel DeAngelo, a superpowered individual, after he's mandated to attend therapy because of his traumatic encounter with the renowned superhero, Captain Crimson.
Its unique take on these genres has resonated with festival audiences and juries.
Presement, alongside producers Nathalia Campos, Adrian Di Nardo, and Sofia Perez, brought the vision to life, but it was Nolan Mick’s standout performance that earned him the Best Debut Actor award, making him one to watch. With these three wins, Maybe I Am the Villain continues its festival run.
